At the south end of the famous Las Vegas Strip sits the sprawling 60-acre tropical-themed Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino attracting leisure travelers looking for some sun, fun and gambling. This Las Vegas hotels facilities are seemingly limitless and include an 11-acre inland beach and pool complex, a 135,000-square-foot casino, a four level Convention Center, sprawling health spas and a theater that hosts Broadway productions and world-class entertainers. In short, Mandalay Bay has enough services, amenities and entertainment that guests need never leave the complex.
Exotic fish swim in the 14-foot aquarium in the center of the lofty, marble lobby. Decorated with rich wood hues and soft draperies, the rooms and suites are designed with comfort in mind from the plush beds and overstuffed couches to the HD flat-screen TVs and stocked mini bars. Spacious en suite baths have glass showers, soaking tubs, separate water closets and twin sinks all done in rich marble and natural stone. Accommodations range from the 500-square-foot Deluxe Room to the 2000-square-foot Media Suite, which boasts a massive entertainment center set up like a mini-screening room.
The Mandalay Bay is home to a whopping 22 restaurants, cafés and snack bars that collectively offer just about every type of global cuisine. Tempura Sashimi and sizzling grilled Szechuan beef are on the menu at the Asian fusion restaurant China Grill, which has a planetarium-style illuminated ceiling. At Rumjungle, guests pass though a wall of fire and then a cooling waterfall to dine on exotic Caribbean, Brazilian and Cuban food including entrées prepared in the Rodizio-style fire pit. Celebrity chefs have a strong presence at Mandalay, including the Hubert Keller helmed fine French restaurant, Fleur de Lys, and Charlie Palmers renowned modern-American restaurant, Aureole. Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger of the Food Networks “Too Hot Tamales” fame serve spicy Mexican fare on sunny patios at the Border Grill, and Wolfgang Puck makes his first foray into Italian cuisine at Trattoria Del Lupo.
Entertainment and activities are the essence of a Las Vegas vacation at Mandalay Bay. The massive aquatic complex has several pools, Jacuzzis and a lazy river, all surrounded by cabanas and day beds. But the sandy beach and expansive tide pool are what set this property apart from other Las Vegas hotel and casinos. The whole family will enjoy the nightly performances of Disneys The Lion King, or a visit to the predator-based Shark Reef Aquarium, which is home to 2,000 plants and animals. Mandalay Place Shopping has dozens of clothing, jewelry, gift, accessories, health and beauty shops. Wedding services and packages are available, and couples can tie the knot in several picturesque locations from the chapel to the sandy beach.

A gigantic replica of the Great Sphinx stands in front of the 30-story dark pyramid of the Luxor Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, inviting guests into the Egyptian-themed resort, complete with swaying palms, statues of Ramses and a mock obelisk. Accessible by the Vegas monorail, the Luxor is at the south end of The Strip near the Las Vegas Convention Center. With its flashing beam of light on the apex and a towering atrium inside, the pyramid is a favorite among vacationing families, though the vast casino, nightly entertainment and gourmet dining guarantee adults a quintessential Las Vegas vacation.
